Can you please tell us the answer
Jahnavi-Shankar

Easy. Ra3#!

Jahnavi-Shankar

No.

Jahnavi-Shankar

Is it mate in 1? Then Ra3 isn't checkmate.

swapben

Q c2?

Jahnavi-Shankar

No. The opponent queen will block. That was mate in 2. There is no way anyone could analyze it.

Jahnavi-Shankar

But interesting.

Jahnavi-Shankar

Luke, is the answer mate in 1?

Jahnavi-Shankar

If the goal is to checkmate in 1 move, it doesn't work at all.

Jahnavi-Shankar

Others, there are no pins. Count all the possibilities and prove me right.

Rookium

Nc5+ If either the Rook or Queen take the knight, you can still mate in 1-2 moves.

Pawn takes either, and then BAM!

Qa8?

1.Re3+doublecheck king has to move...Kd4. 2.Rb3+...Kc4. 3.Bf1+...Qd3. 4.BxQ#mate. I think thisis correct🙂

Rookium

Mine does it in 3 moves:

1. Nc5+ Rxc5; 2. bxc5+ Qc4 3. Qxc4# (1-0)

Both work, and that poor black K is toast! happy.png

Nice thing is that often Chess has more than one # solution... In my solution, it is one move faster, so far as I can tell, and the King stays put, no dancing of K/Q around the Q-side of whites board.

Qa8! I solved it as second.

Jahnavi-Shankar

If you don't believe me, analyze my answer. Qa8 is mate in 2.

Rookium

How is Qa8 mate? K is not even in Check! ?!

Rookium

Ok checking...
