How to get better at puzzle ?

I spent most my time playing puzzles coz i find it interesting. However I realize now i am stucking at around 2400 rating at puzzle. Can anyone share your views on how to perform better at puzzle? And also how much time do you guys spend on one puzzle? Do I need to restrict myself to make a move within an amount of time even I am uncertain about the follow up move ? if yes how long should it be ?
