you could be cheating on puzzles
are you?
No, they changed the puzzle ratings and score. So now the puzzles are around 1900, instead of around 2500. Every puzzle I get right I get 5 points. Everyone I get wrong I lose 31 points.
I just hit 3800![]()

I peaked at 3200 but I was more into completing the puzzle run which I did with 200,000 points.
But I don't know if it is too easy even on extra hard to have hints on like "you can win the queen"
But I guess the rating here is to high because even at 2600+ you still get 10 mate in one in a row.
so you can easily solve 20-50 in a row.
so I doubt you can use this rating for anything. I think we should get the puzzles that grandmasters get on TV then we would lose rating points.
I'm concerned that because the puzzles have gotten so much easier lately, they are a less effective training tool.
A good analogy would be lifting lighter weights in the gym, feels good but you're actually not as strong as you were.

Your tactics rating is 2703. When was the last time you had a 2700 rated tactic in one of your games?
Puzzle ratings should decay and be heavily weighted to the present. Rating should reflect the now, not accumulated points from a year or more ago. The system should incentivise daily practice; not encourage players to avoid puzzles on off-days to protect their ranking. I believe a 90-day window would be a more accurate and motivating.
is 2600 good in puzzles? It used to be.
I reached 3800 this week.
It's because they broke puzzles for a couple of weeks, but nobody needs to know that. ![]()
I did reach 3100 before puzzles broke.

Perfectly respectable. But "good" depends on your playing ability and experience. If Carlsen topped out at 2600, would you consider it good? No. If someone who started playing a year ago reached 2600 in puzzles, would that be good?Absolutely.

to me a high inflated rating works the opposite for me I don't care about the rating, so if I win or lose rating I really don't care anymore. I just try to complete the puzzle twice. I know I lose a lot of rating if I try puzzle tired so what. I couldn't care less.
Definitely not...because: it's not unusual at all to see a personal puzzles-score that is twice as high as a personal daily/rapid/blitz/bullet score.
PS.
My personal puzzle score arrived today at 3150 (and I definitely expect it to grow significangtly); however, my all time high in daily/rapid/blitz/bullet is just 1437 + my highest game rating score is just ~2000 only).
3700
With a 54 puzzle solving streak. My record was about 14 before the changes to the system.
