This only works if the opposing queenside knight hasn't been developed yet, because the trick would be losing because the opposing side can capture the knight AND protect the bishop at the same time. A very interesting mate.
I hope I will be given the opportunity to use it once.

It may still work even if the queenside knight has been developed. There's a risk that the opponent will see the plan. I've done it with the queenside knight developed, and the opponent had gotten greedy most of the time and took the queen.
There will be plenty of opportunities to use it since there will always be people that don't know it.
