What version of Fritz are you using? 5.Bxe5 is an illegal move. I'm guessing you mean 5.Bxd5, but it's weird that you are just now letting Fritz run against one of the most principled moves, when you already claim White is OK. When I run Fritz 11 SE, the assessment quickly increases to -/+ with greater depth so I am curious what you have planned as this looks quite dubious for White. Well quite frankly, it doesn't sound like you have anything planned (except to shut on the engine).

I have seen 3.d3 Nc6 4.f4 exf4 analyzed for Black by Lysyj and Ovetchkin, but I am not familiar with this line. The highest level game appears to be Aronian - Anand, Amber-rapid 2006, where Aronian played 5.exd5. Anand responded with 5...Ng4 6.d4 Bxd4, but 6...exd4 intending 7.Qe2+ Ne3 looks stronger. If anything, Black will be doing more of the attacking as he can castle safely without development problems.

After 5.Bxd5 (no games in the online Chessbase database FYI), Fritz's top recommendation 5...0-0! looks very strong. 5.exd5 is the only move that makes sense to me, as White can sometimes seek compensation from a large pawn mass after tempting Black to take the rook on h1.

To apostolis1, what do you want? I know these moves are stupid... that's why I post them!!!

The wrong one, apparently (probably worth mentioning here that i got rid of it on my computer).... well, there go my chances of taking the next world championship by storm :(

looking at what you've written, i would definitely say that, played well, black can get himself a comfortable game.

my idea was to essentially do a kings gambit without the risk, as the bishop can retake if needed, and meanwhile white gets more pressure on the center

it seems that at higher level play it would get countered and shut down pretty hard though, which i guess is a bit of a drawback to trying to think of new ideas to play for the fun of it. popular openings are popular for a reason... still, random openings are fun in casual games against people who have no idea how to counter it :P

Yeah, it's hard to play a King's Gambit without risk. Probably the best you can do is the Vienna (2.Bc4 is a common move order), but strong players usually know how to defend well against it. Mitkov is a GM who plays the Vienna fairly regularly, but I've seen him get some uninspiring positions with White. It has a lot of traps without too much risk, but you don't get much out of the opening if Black knows what he is doing.

I made this up myself and use it all the time! Idea is to trade a bishop that would normally be blocked off for a more active piece.Step 2 is to get ready for a c pawn push but its not a gambit because the bishop is protecting it.It has a nice postion and white is very flexible in what he wants to do. Only problem is the attack comes a little slow and black can organize a defense. What do you think?

Intersting positon.

It is really interesting line.
