Very hard for the BEGINNERS. But not so easy for experts also.
Mate in 4 (incredible)
I dont think there is a mate in 4 =(. I found a mate in 6, but none for just four moves...
Edit: If anyone could, tell me the mating combination?
Yeah I can't seem to find the 4 move mate either, the best I have come up with is 1. Ng5+ Kg7 2. Qxh8 Kxh8 3. f6 Kg8 4. a8=Q#, but black can avoid this mate with 1. Ng5+ Kf6 and although white has essentially guaranteed himself the win, I can't find a combination that would give him mate in 3 more moves.
I think I have the mate in 4. I believe it is a queen move.
....don't tease me! What is your line?
I got nothing - probably a mate in about 20 or something :)
Random-d, we are looking for CHECKmate, not STALEmate...
The term mate is never short for Stalemate, therefore I'm afraid what you've just said is wrong.
Wait my bad, that's not all forced. But what about this:
1. Qb8 Rxb8 2. axb8=Q Kf6 3. Qf8#
It's not acctually that difficult.
Yes friends, there is mate in 4!!!!!
But Alex_M your solution is wrong because Rxb8 isn't forced, white can do Rg8 (For example) and there aren't mate in 4...

Alright, but what of this:
1. Qb8 Rg8 2. Qe5 Rxg4 3. Ng5+ Kf8 4. a8=Q#
I understand that Rxg4 isn't forced but you may substitute it with any possible rook move and you will have a mate in 4 or 3.
1 Qb8 Rd8+ 2 Kd8 Ke6 3 Qd5+ Kf7 4 Qg7#
1 Qb8 Rg8 2 Qd5 Rd8+ 3 Kd8 Kg8 4 Qg7#
1 Qb8 Rh7 2Qe8#
1 Qb8 Rb8 2 axb8(Q) Kd6 3 Qd8#
