#1 and #2 both have many solutions, but the max/min may be different depending on whether the bishops are on opposite colors or not. You may put the bishops on opposite colors if you wish.

Of the three puzzles below, the first I found online, the second I made, and the third I also made but haven't yet found a solution for. Good luck solving them. Feel free to post your own similar puzzles.
#1: What's the maximum number of squares on a standard board which can be attacked by the 8 White pieces? (No pawns, and no other pieces on the board.)
#2: What's the minimum number of squares on a standard board which can be attacked by the 8 White pieces? (Ditto.)
#3: What's the minimum number of knights necessary to attack every square of an otherwise empty standard board?
My best solution to number 3, as of now, is below. 16 knights seems like way too much, though. The answer cannot be less than 9 knights.
