new puzzle scoring system

They have long given a big minus when you miss puzzles well below your rating.
All your big point losses in the last 25 were for missing puzzles 1000 points below your rating.
And you get fewer points when you solve a puzzle below your rating.
As was suggested, you can change the difficulty of the puzzles.

I tried a dozen or so at the middle difficulty. No difference. I will now try the most difficult setting.

On the most difficult setting, 5 points is still the maximum. This was not the case 6 months ago No matter how quickly it's solved, you can only get 5 points.

I agree with that.
I came to the site after many months of absense and found out that after solving the puzzle I can't define the tags.
That was a vary good and helpful feature which is missing very much during the training process. It helped me improve my trainig.

In your last 25, you didn't match or beat the target time once.
If you get the answer correct and beat the target time, you will get more than 5 points.

Even on extra hard you get a huge array of puzzles not directed to your puzzle rating ranging from 1200-2200 weighted to the lower end even when you’re at 2400. My puzzle rating has been stable at 2300 for 3 months now after the drop when the puzzle system was fixed but has plummeted as I find your brain works through a problem in a different manner for easy and hard problems. I’m getting the (few) 2000+ puzzles correct but being hammered by the 1500 puzzles. If I wanted 1200-1500 puzzles, I’d do puzzle rush!
There’s also no opportunity to win back points, as if there are no hard puzzles relative to your rating you will never get more than +5…
