Yes good variation . However Fritz still prefers Nxg5 to Nxd6. After Nxg5 the eval is around +4.8 and after Nxd6 it is +1.8 .

why wouldn't you then instead of taking the h2 pawn, take the c7 pawn instead, threatening mate and the capture of the night (hence the pin using whites bishop)! I'm pretty sure this would lead to a faster mate, hopefully avoiding the run-around!

Because the h2 pawn can queen (6... h1=Q)
