@jonfrankle Perhaps they changed the cap in the code?
Puzzle difficulty levels broke today. "Extra hard" ... is NOT.
Nope. A ton of people are complaining that puzzles got easier, they are gaining 600-1000 points effortlessly, and are no longer being challenged.
Unless/until they return to something closer to the old system, I have to revoke my recommendation to work on puzzles, at least on chess.com. It's a shame, as for me, until the last few days, they felt more enjoyable and useful than those on lichess.

Same here. Was on 3000 and only given 1900/2200 puzzles. Lost interest and got kicked back a few points. Looked at puzzle stats and saw that the puzzles immediatly have easier rankings as well. Even with a 10 hot streak, they do not change anymore. Its completely broken. Such a shame, it was a brilliant system. Guess I'll do adjusted puzzles of higher rankings. Or just stop. Smh.

It’s just a bug guys, they announced it on one of the devs Instas, they happen, supposed to be back next week
Any source, @OrgamisWasTaken?
I wonder if they do any internal semantic testing before pushing a new build live at this point. Right now it seems more like they try something and look how it works out.

The change was planned and isn't a bug

So chesscom is purposely ruining their users experience, good to know.
Was wondering if "ruining" might be a bit over the top here, but given the vast amount of negative feedback, it's possibly the fitting term.

It's quite annoying to lose 17 points when missing a tactic on move number 2 and solving a 4 move tactic in under 30 seconds to only get 5 points.

No seriously it is a bug, it’s on instagram stop being a prick
I have seen no information from staff that there's a bug. The changes are planned and there are some additional changes that are in progress to complete the changes.

Something is for sure wrong. I advanced from 2700 to 2800 by solving puzzles rated ~2000 (+- 50). Difficulty was constant and didn't change along with my progression (see screenshot). +5 points for solving a puzzle and up to -20 for failing. In the previous system I oscillated around 2600 and reached 2800 only once. I tried to change difficulty but nothing changed.
It's for sure a bug.
I'm curious how long it will take chess.com to correct this 'improvement'.
But I fear they'll just ignore these comments. It's so demotivating.

Okay so chess.com had made improvers club and then made puzzles so easy that you aren't even improving a bit from them😤
It's very annoying, and it happened to me before (back in April or May I think - support said I was part of an 'experiment', but it basically ruined my experience by giving me puzzles that were way too easy, so my rating went from 2800±200 to 3400). If they don't fix it soon, I'm going to have to give up on my subscription and switch to Lichess or one of the various chess puzzle apps.
Did the difficulty levels just break today? I've been set on "extra hard" and have a puzzle rating over 3300. I've just been fed thirty straight puzzles rated in the 2400's !!?!!
I missed only one of them -- because of a mouse slip. This is NOT "extra hard" difficulty.
Please fix it.
