White appears to be in serious trouble here: Black is threatening checkmate on g5, is up a queen and a piece, and is about to promote his pawn on c1. Amazingly, White is actually slightly better in this position, due to a pretty funny sequence of moves. White to move and be up in material.

You're right Perhaps I should've played Black's best move (knight to d6) and left it at that, and changing the objective to simply obtaining a decisive advantage.

Here is a crappy puzzle (because, if Black defends properly, the sequence of moves would be different). Just posting it here so I don't forget the idea and can possibly work this into something useable in the future.
