Tactics rating point
Sort:
I was wondering about the rating system for tactics. I understand that chess.com wants time to be a factor in solving tactics, but the current system has the following problem in my opinion: when I get a hard puzzle, I spend a lot of time solving it, but even when the puzzle is really hard, I get hardly any points, 1-6. Then when I get an easy puzzle, which I can solve at first glance, I get 10 points. I guess it's good to sometimes get an easy puzzle, as a sort of encouragement, but the reward for solving a hard puzzle should be relatively much higher I feel, regardless of the time you spend solving it. Maybe a simple solution would be having the rating reward for puzzles that are higher rated then the players tactical rating, always giving a minimum amount of rating points, even when lots of time is spend.
