On a slightly related note...here's a vaguely similar puzzle I suddenly recalled. White to play and mate in 4, without letting the king reach the 8th rank.
See the movelist for all the variations, although the really neat thing about this puzzle is that actually White's moves are completely identical regardless of what the Black king does.
White to play and checkmate in 3 moves.
