NxQ and it's all over from there
The puzzle that you, Carlsen nor Stockfish can solve

#49 NxQ and itiis game. The other crazycrazy ends on move 30. Silly lookinglooking comb. Almost looks too good to be true yet it is true

After Nxg2, what are you going to play after e1=Q+ is played?

White to move, mate in X:
There is this somewhat well known puzzle that I keep seeing now and then. This puzzle is very hard, and unless you've seen it before, you most likely wont be able to solve it. With perfect play it's a mate in 30 or less for white. But if you give it to most players or even strong chess engines like Stockfish, they will most likely not be able to understand that white is better here. But it is white to move, and white wins.
I gave this problem to Stockfish 6 on my computer and it gave it as black is winning, when in fact it should be showing the oppsite, which it understands only after I help it with a few moves. Maybe if we discover the quantum computer soon, Stockfish will be able to see deep enough to calculate the mate. But for now, this remains one of the hardest puzzles out there.

That's not quite right. It makes sense to some people, and not to others.

Gull 3.0.1 indeed finds this. Like Adrico said above.
It took (gull on 10cpus) 1-2seconds to get positive score, and a couple of more to get +4 score.
There are probably a billion morons on this planet willing to vote +4 on this problem, especially when you give them a dime. Numbers mean nothing. There are many positions which your engine scores at +10 and still draw. The very least you should do is play the defensive black moves dictated by the composer of this endgame and see if your engine wins as white.
Not that I doubt that most engines will solve it today. They have improved a lot over recent years!
... There are many positions which your engine scores at +10 and still draw. ...
This for example
and if you try playing this draw against computer level 10 it scores it as +183.

Not all is progress.
When I first posted this White to mate in 24, SF (Computer Level 10) correctly evaluated the position as positive for White, but could only draw as White if it tried to play the position.
Something very similar happened if I played SF in the Tarrasch GUI with longer time controls.
Now if I play my updated SF in the Tarrasch GUI with time control G/120+10, SF bizarrely manages to lose as White!
Yes . That crazy one with the pawn bishop and King vs the knights bishop and pawns
