Odd, I don't see them in the original diagram either, but I did find a bug in the editor that allows me to add them.  Can anyone see them in the diagram below?  What squares are they on?

Incidentally, I don't see them in my diagram either, but I do notice that they flash breifly on the original one when I refresh the page.  They appear in the FEN as a "w" character.

I think this is a bug, not a feature (although it would make a good feature).

I will show you how to make a invisible piece! when your putting pieces on a puzzle you take the out side of all the pieces (the yellow part) then you place it on a square and the piece becomes invisible!

FYI, I get them via the editor by dragging the whole tray of pieces onto the board as opposed to individual pieces.  Simply adding a "w" (or any other character not representing a piece) to your FEN on the sqaure where you want the red dot to appear seems to work as well.
