What is your favourite or less favourite two-handed card games ? Or any card games you know of for two players.

My favourites at the moment are: Gin Rummy (with the Hollywood scoring) and Cribbage.

Not in my dictionary... two handed means you need two hands to play it.

Takes two hands to handle a whopper ;-)

As a kid I used to play Snap, Old Maid and Donkey, don't remember how to play the last two games. One was popular and played it a lot, is good for more than 3 peoples, we called it last Card supposedly it came from the Crazy Eights family and that lead to the world now known as Uno.

My grandfather used to play cribbage on the front porch with the ball game on the radio and a highball in the glass on the floor.

It took forever for me to learn how to play, because no one could explain it quite well enough.

I am an extremely talented card magician.

I used to visit some people that liked to play cribbage. Sometimes we would play with 2 people or perhaps with 3, but I haven't played for years now ( I don't think that I ever got the 29 point hand  lol ).

No one mention Canasta ? I enjoyed this as a two players game but it goes quite well for 4 peoples (partner).

A variant of Whist is Honeymoon Whist, which I haven't played since the late 70s.

hah, you could also be referring it to the German Whist. A good bidding game for two (perfect for 3) players is "500" is from the euchre family.

In honeymoon whist (which I have not played in ages) you cut the deck to determine trump suit & that half of the deck went to the bottom so the 2nd picker could get it--then you pick one card & look at it and if you wanted it you kept it and if not, you tossed it. If you kept it you didn't look at card #2. After the cards were all selected, the player who picked the last card gets to lead & after six tricks (book) is made, you get points for each further trick taken...though I forget how it is scored.

I've played Cribbage online, an argentinian game called Truco, and an austrian game called Schnapsen.

I'm still trying to understand bridge. Laughing
