Haha. You can't write TOS in terms of "no threats, unless it's hyperbole, in that case it's fine"
When making rules you have to think in terms of loopholes, otherwise you're not thinking at all.

No one is contesting what is written in the terms of service. What is being contested is whether that any threat was really made. Did you seriously think that someone was going to take a flight to Leafland, look for the King of the hedgehogs and asphyxiate him? Did you, seriously? If not then there was no threat made for it was purely hyperbole, an exaggerated statement not mean to be taken literally. That being the case what has transpired is that someone has been muted for essentially a thought crime. Yes indeed, delivered up to chess dot com Room 101 for reconditioning.

Ok, so, what I'm hearing is you learned the word hyperbole yesterday and are eager to use it as many times as you can.
That's nice.
Meanwhile, in the civilized world, it's still rude to threaten people, whether you actually plan on strangling them or not. Chess.com enforces niceness... I've run afoul of this a few times recently so I'd know
