This riddle is old as dirt, but the answer is:
"If I were to ask the other guard which door leads to life, what would he say?"
The Truth Guard will reason as follows:
The other guard would lie and point to the death door, so I should point to the death door to indicate that.
Whereas the Lying Guard will reason:
The other guard would tell the truth and point to the life door, so I must lie and point to the death door.
Both guards point to the death door.
