In my view, the universe came about according to a set of properties that are necessary, meaning that "multiverse" is exacly the opposite of the way we need to be thinking. There is nothing at all of chance in the way the universe came into being and chance is only applicable to individual particles, rather than to the overview of what makes the universe tick. The entire structure is delicately balanced in that it can only work one way .... and that's the way it works. So the idea of multiverse with an infinite set laws of nature cannot be so, if only from the idea of parsimony of unknowns (Occam's Razor). That is, it's procedurally incorrect in scientific speculation to hypothesise more unknowns than necessary: and a multiverse hypothesises an infinity of unknowns.

The same principle applies to the creation of space and original, particular material in space as to the formation of molecules necessary for life and even to thought itself. The Big Bang is an incredibly naive and clumsy way of portraying it, especially the version of the BB that hypothesises that the universe was infinitely dense and hot in the past. But there are other versions of the BB that make slightly more sense. One of them is not too far off the mark ... that the expansion of the universe is from all points simultaneously and always has been, and the hot, dense beginning is a subjective illusion caused by the topography of the universe.

I'd say that this is what I'm interested in. I don't think evolution is nonsense. I think that you are frightened to accept you don't exist.

Why, exactly, don't I exist?

If I didn't exist, how can I have a toothache?

Wouldn't I fantasize a more fabulous universe if I was merely a figment of whatnot?

Americans are the only people who have trouble with evolution...very strange phenomenon...it happened 3.8 billion years ago...etc etc

I don't need any dutch turd telling me I have problems with evolution. I don't. How does that fit into your drained swamp cosmology?

Tk 151.

Is that true, do we all desire to know the truth?

As for what is the truth? I see it this way.

Think of four people standing facing different walls of a house. Each wall has a different colour.

There is a subjective truth that exists. The house has a blue wall a yellow wall and so on. The people could argue.

But sure there is an objective truth. The house has a blue and yellow wall and so on.

However I think that all truth is is an awareness of nature. Truly all there is is nature.

The thing is no two seconds of nature are the same. Therefore truth is continually changing.

Furthermore you can't find the truth. There is no you. Truth occurs naturally.

The universe knows itself. Nature knows itself.

I'm almost personifying nature though.

I'll try to term it better. Nature observes itself.

Still sounds like I'm making nature a person.

Better perhaps to say nature is interconnected. It's fully integrated!

By the way. Hawking in his book the theory of everything talks about all this stuff.

What I'm referring to in respect of points of view is called model dependent realism.

I think it's insightful to realise that sometimes when people are arguing they are both right!

They just both have a different point of view! Literally.

Opti it's interesting to hear an alternative idea.

Hawking talks about a force such as gravity being responsible for creating matter.

I liked your analysis but I don't particularly see why you expect there's only one universe.

Generally there are more than one in nature. Planets, stars, galaxies, why ought a universe be different?

I've a feeling you're being egocentric. You want to be special. We are specks of dust in a universe of universes.

Dr @ 172.

Sure experience exists. That moment of experiencing pain exists. No question.

Where are you though? Carolina had it about right.

Are you that experience, the thought you had in relation to it, your body? What do you own and define yourself as?

Sure Dr, thoughts feelings and behaviour exist. Physical sensations. All of these though are a part of nature. There is no I. Individuality is an illusion.

As for wouldn't we imagine?

There is no I to imagine anything. Also matter does exist. It's just there is no I. Think of it like this. Nature is the programmer and we are the code.

I think deep down we all know we don't exist.

" 'Truth' is always changing" ?! .. Then I guess, the recorded passage, re. 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light', would be another one of those memorable, if non-sensical, statements. - Which, incidentally.. Anyone's obviously 'free' to believe, {a-ha.. 'Free Will'!}.. It's just that, it will noticeably, hinder their Life journey!

In so many words.. Truth, cannot be lumped into, One Big category! .. As in, some observational aspects, of 'inaminate' truth, being mentioned, in the same 'breath' as it were.. to Existential- moral, Truths!

Some things have a weird significance.

Like footwear. What you have on your feet really changes your mood. Put slippers on and you feel relaxed.

I've noticed when people are very stressed they take their shoes off.

Also food. If someone feeds you that has a deep emotional resonance. Maybe if we want to be liked we should attempt to feed people!
