December has been snowy enough to more than make up for the super-warm November. In the first 21 days this month the Soo received 38.2 inches (vs. the "normal" 15.9 inches for the first three weeks of December).
That brings the season total to 45.1 inches ("normal" is 39.0 inches).
BTW, November's snowfall total was only 6.9 inches. "Normal" is 15.1.
Yeah, the stuff I was posting that I was impressed with was a specific air mass/system-- weather, not climate.
And it looks like there's another big swing from the norm coming up, this time in the arctic. By the end of the week temps may be back to more than 25 degrees F above normal. The last couple weeks had been cooler, after November averaged 23 degrees above normal at the pole for the full month.
NOAA said 2 days ago that 2016 is still on pace to end up as the hottest year on record, breaking 2015's record. And 2015 broke the record set in 2014.
