Wow,  nobody got offended in the last hour and the bunny remains unmuted.

@wolfbird, the references would probably just fly over his head.

A hug, anyone?

Personally, I just stick to a polite namaste these days.

52yrral

I guess that works 6' away to!

Abhinav

Yep! And there's really no need to put your hands together too. You can just say "namaste" and nod; that works just fine.

I know this is Nothing but I have to know what lame rods were in charge of giving the DC batteries their letter ID's. Ok we have D battery which is the largest, then comes the smaller C battery; so far that makes sense. Now the lame rods totally leave out a B battery and names the next one the AA battery (as if there was actually a real A battery)

Now floundering in the swamp they have made they name the next smaller battery the AAA battery.

Even a moron could have come up with 4 different batteries called D,C,B, and A.

You must be getting bored...and a little hot I hear..

Actually, the B and A batteries do exist. You won't find them on store shelves anymore because they have fallen out of use, but B batteries are still used in some parts of the world. The battery sizes did begin with A and progressed upwards to B, C, D, and when much smaller sizes were invented they named it AA, AAA, AAAA and so on.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battery_sizes

If you will view the above wiki page you will find that now even battery sizes like F, N, J and weird names like CR927 and CR1025 do exist as consumer electronics get smaller and smaller. All this naming system is more or less very confusing now. It's better to just stick to the normal 9V battery.

Yeah I am crawling up the walls and it's in the 100's in April!

@ Abhinav  Thanks for your informed input on batteries. Welcome to Nothing.

I need to charge mine. Yesterday it was helping the girl with homework, we had to research about baseball and do an extensive report. This is one of those sports we've always heard of here in the colonies of course, but once you really have to learn about it, damn. At least for me. My head was spinning. And they say quantum mechanics is counter intuitive. One thing I liked, though, is that you can't stall the game when you are winning.

AlCzervik

oh, man, i could help with the baseball stuff.

there is no stalling that matters in any significant way. getting 27 outs while having one more run than the other team is as basic as it is.

for those of us that grew up playing, watching, and reading it, we recognize the subtle nuances that others miss.

the same way i will miss those things in sports i do not know. i could go on at length about baseball, but that would be more than nothing.

AlCzervik

now, if this homework assignment is critical for a grade, i could be persuaded to offer my expertise in exchange for toilet paper.

Pulpofeira

If only I would have known before!

Like everyone in both teams seems to dress the same way? grin.png

I've heard that baseball is the most popular in the States during regular seasons, but nothing beats the Superbowl. Hell, even it used to be shown here in public channels (and commentated by local hosts) while you needed satellite to watch normal games, and people watched it even if they didn't understand jack.

Nowadays you have to pay even for the f***ing football (soccer). I think it would be the same even with bullfighting if it wasn't banned on TV. grin.png
