I’m not saying this has happened, but you could replace Dane with one of these new AI voice synthesis avatars, and you wouldn’t be able to tell. This last one felt very uniform and off.

I love Dane and the site. I also do VO work myself, and it scares me how good these things are, and voice actors like Dane in these instructional videos could easily be replaced saving chess.com money.

I believe they've done exactly that. Dane's puzzle of the day voiceovers are simply too uncanny now to be authentic.
