Let...
a=1
b=1
That means
a=b
multiply both sides by a
a2 = ab
Subtact b2 from both sides
a2 - b2 = ab - b2
Factor
(a+b)(a-b) = b(a-b)
Divide both sides by (a-b)
(a-b) ///// (a-b)
Cancel
*crosses out both (a-b)*
a+b=b
If
a=1 and b=1
Then
1+1=1
2=1
hey hey...the mistake is tha...(a-b) cant be cancelled from both sides because here if a = b = 1...then a-b = 0...and as far the laws of mathematics go...we cant cancel a multiple of 0 from both sides...
Same thing...see 0 x 100 = 0 x 1000
if u cancel both zeros...100 = 1000...
dats the simple reason...
