You got a lot of crazies in the mid west I heard. I picked up a guy once in South Dakota and dropped him off in Wisconsin (strange people in Wisconsin) - anyway as soon as he jumped in the car he says in a drawl 'you gotta gun'
I put my foot flat on the gas like 90 miles hr......until I was sure he wasn't going to pull a gun out....weird for me .....bloody foreigners
