To all you anger philosophers:  I repent.  My anger volumn is at a steady 8 until I come on chess.com and see people use that stupid f----ing smiley face.  I hate the smiley face.  It reminds me of an guy that uses it at the end of every post he makes in the BFG for vote chess.  The smiley face is plain stupid and childish and it raises my anger volumn to 11.  So, let's see how many people now use it just to make me angry.  Have a bad day!  And why isn't there an emoticon for the middle finger?

At one time people using "lol"all the time, used to get on my nerves a bit, but now it doesn't really bother me, infact I have also started to use it myself. lol  :)))   Cool

I agree about the emoticons. They remind me about the simplyfied language in 1984, with less room for complex feelings and thoughts. There's also a clear inflation in the use of smiley faces. A message without smiley faces will often come across as more hostile than what's meant.

Tom, I wouldn't get too caught up in what FB is feeding you. In no way shape or form have I ever implied that you & he are the same person. FB is on the rampage right now, going from thread to thread with his issues.

The other thing is I think there are 3 people here who actually get this thread. Anger Management with Jack Nicholson was a comedy.

There is a lot of satire here for those with the eyes to see, interwoven with some other material.

Having said that, some people are just so damn annoying or plain nasty that sometimes I am incapable of behaving in the zen and non-judgemental manner that I aspire to, and launch right in....

I think we all have similar problems there Carla.

The gap between the actual & the ideal. The work is in the gap for all of us I guess.

Sometimes though, instead of repressing anger, it is kind of nice to just let it rip. Cathartic even.

Then we have to deal with the fallout.

I like that though . I don't want relationships with people where we both hide how we are feeling .

I like to know people and for me to know them .

As long as there's no harm meant what's the harm?

It's funny but I know many people have challenged my sincerity on these threads but it's the one thing for me anyway can't be questioned .

I told people I was blanking my crying disabled father . I don't think it can get any more real than that .

Anyway I think if you believe in yourself , and I do , then you don't feel the need to hide who you are .

I don't . That includes my anger .

Don't attach !

Estren is right . A misquote of course .

I've found that the most important thing in remaining calm is not to worry .

I think in general to be mindful is to be calm and compassionate .

I heard an analogy the other day which is astute .

Hold a glass in your hand for a minute it's no problem but for an hour it's hard to bear .

I find that losing your temper can be a disorder .

The more you worry about it , the less mindful you are , the less temperate you are .
