I mean, if you are a cheetah, would you limit how many animals you eat because they will go extinct? No. Humans shouldn’t care either. Being high and mighty is worse for the creatures, because evolution cannot give them resistance if they do not need it
‘Civilised humans’ what you consider yourself civilised if you new that humanity has cut down 1.5 million trees in the last minute? If we have sent out 1,000 kg of meat from freshly murdered animals? We are not civilised at all. We are murderous, but most of us do not know. Just like earlier in this thread, people arguing about eating dog meat, 1.5 million dogs are killed every year for ‘scientific purposes’, while they are supposed to be ‘a mans best friend’

The difference between animal predators and human hunters, animals hunt for food for himself and his cubs only. They really don't kill too many. Human hunters hunt for food and TRADING. Trading is a Regulated activity so if the government says trading ivory, rhino horns, tiger skin and parts, etc is ILLEGAL, STOP! Similarly if the government declared killing some Animal Species is criminally punishable STOP! As a Citizen, one is Obliged to follow LOCAL Laws. As a Citizen of the World, one is Obliged to follow International Norms by Consensus.

Survival has its price. Humans can't tolerate living on Soy Protein so Animals are Raised and Slaughtered. In regards of Animal Experiments, there is no Volunteer among humans. Some countries did illegalize Animal Testing.
I’m not saying that what we are doing is necessarily bad, but I am saying that calling ourselves ’civilised’ is not something we can do. Look at ants, as an example, they have huge colonies with billions of members, and a social system nearly as complex as ours. Would you call them civilised?

My understanding of Civilized means people who follow Laws, Rules and Regulations. And Norms established by majority. The Majority is upset with dog slaughter and consumption. As Civilized citizens, the minority should respect the desire of the majority and STOP slaughtering and consuming dog meat.
Well it depends, because a drunk will try to convince himself that he is right, without any facts to backup their argument

Majority rule often ends up with bigotry unless there are intrusive social constructs specifically designed to prevent that.
