Anyone relate to this?

I find that I play chess much better when I am feeling a strong emotion. Negative or positive. For example, I am feeling a bit sad today, so I began playing some chess games. My rapid elo increased some 50 points and is at 530, 30 points past my goal for the end of the year. Does anyone else have this experience?

I guess of course people mostly play better when happy, but what about when you feel negative emotions. Or emotions perceived as negative.
