@awesome1184, I’m not interested in viewing your YouTube link. What I’m saying is that $23B paid annually by the American taxpayers (or taken by US politicians who cannot balance a budget to save their souls is a better way to put it) with one of it’s main goals as social correctness is, in my opinion, somewhat wasteful of our tax dollars.

The amount of money saved by weather satellites alone bringing in crops ahead of storms that would otherwise destroy them, dwarfs the amount of money spent on the space program.

... and that's just ONE small aspect of the payback from the space program.

I don’t completely disagree with you. The 2022 NASA budget is approximately $30B and approximately $23B is paid for by the US taxpayers. We’ve put 24 humans on the moon, all NASA astronauts. If the program is reaping the rewards you allude to (and it isn’t the thrust of my argument), I’d like to see a more global effort in funding the very programs that have global benefits. Certainly not social goals.

If you don't know, the delayed launch got delayed again due to a potentially hazardous fuel leak. Looks like there are a few engineering problems to iron out. Well, it is rocket science...

Rescheduled for Monday.

Even though we may disagree, as @Elroch said, delaying the launch saves money versus blowing everything to hell and gone.

I think it was scrubbed because of weather today.  A few days ago it was scrubbed for a censor warning.  I hope everything goes OK......man, that's a BIG rocket. shock

A hydrogen tank leak.

Looks like that suggestion of a short delay was over-optimistic. While the current launch period extended to Tuesday, they concluded it was not enough time to fix a serious problem and a later announcement said "not before September 19".

I thought it was named after Artemis Gordon.......you know, the Secret Service agent on "The Wil Wild West"?...... Ok, nevermind. nervous                                             https://www.space.com/artemis-1-moon-wild-facts-mission

Probably named after the crazy character in "It's always sunny in Philadelphia"

They named it after the greek goddess Artemis, the goddess of the hunt. She never married anybody and had a group of followers named Huntresses of Artemis who were all girls, vowed to never marry and in return the only way they could die was in battle.

It's ok. Weather does not come to order, so a further delay is just one of those things.
