That's the dude who did well in the X factor, or something.
Thanks for the post Kaynight. Well Opera fans will tell us that there is only one Richard Wagner.

HELP! I want to be a composer one day too!
How can I go about doing that (without losing my hearing).
As in football, you have to know the score.
lol
I know scores quite well (you mean notation or reading conductors' scores?)
Thanks for all of the recent posts.
We have another name to mention here in June, that of Igor Stravinsky ( born June 17th, 1882 ).
Well we had a bit of a gap in our list of birthdays but Sept 8th of 1841 is the day for Antonin Dvorak who spent some time in the USA and was inspired in his music by that visit.
It seems that I'm getting a bit behind in my updates on birthdays as September 25th ( in the year 1906 ) was the big day for Shostakovich.
He is some age now.
--- Thanks for the post Kaynight. I feel that the great Composers of the last 400 years or so have given us so much beautiful music that their names deserve to be mentioned every now and then.
Keep with it man, all the best.
--- Thanks for the post Kaynight. Thanks also for the good wishes.
I have always had leanings towards Liszt.
--- Thanks for the post Kaynight. I suppose that the fans of piano music must have a tough time naming a favourite among Chopin, Liszt or Bach.
Today is another day of importance for fans of Classical Music, back in 1865 we had the birth of Sibelius.
Wasn't she Basil Fawlty's wife?
--- Thanks for the post Kaynight.
Odd that you should mention Fawlty Towers as that show has been mentioned in my thread on old TV shows. I'm a fan of Basil and company, having the whole series here on a set of DVDs.
It is a classic, if you excuse the association with the composers mentioned here.
Just don't mention the war!

Kaynight: Yes it was a true TV classic. Also the whole series was written by John Cleese and his former wife Connie Booth.
Sred: Thanks for that funny quote from the show.
I missed getting on-line yesterday and we had a important event on that day back in 1803 ( yes it was the birth of Hector Berlioz, any trivia fans get that one right ? ).
Cab: I know the U.K. Royal Air Force named one of their aircraft after one of his compositions.
--- Thanks very much for the info and the post Kaynight.
May 22cnd is a big day for any Opera fans that may visit this thread ( going back to 1813, Richard Wagner ).
