Ban FireWorks Federally

Once again this year I have to shell out almost $200 to stay in a hotel out of the city just to avoid the obnoxiously loud explosions that selfish inconsiderate people set off as late as 1 am (when it's not even the 4th anymore). Fireworks are dangerous, disturb the peace, and are easily replaced by better looking drone displays anyway. Those people don't realize what they are doing to some people, people literally have to drug their dogs, newborns get woken up after overworked parents spend an hour getting them down for the night. Veterans get PTSD (ironically the people who help maintain the meaning of the 4th end up getting hurt). A few years ago a 3 year old boy got 2nd degree burns when one came in through a slightly open window into his room at night. People get woken up all night when they have work the next day. People's pets have gotten killed when they go ballistic from the endless booms and jump the fence/run out into the road. It negatively affects people with developmental disabilities/autism. All states need to stop selling them for private use. There's a reason professional shows are done for the public and they end at around 10 pm, a reasonable time. So now I have to be driven out of my own home just to escape going insane from the noise. I'll try to get a little ahead of the cost by doordashing later into the night and all day the next day since the hotel is in the zone where I do it, anyone I deliver to who has fireworks out will be marked as "unsafe" in the app after delivery. Report any and all illegal fireworks going off near you at unreasonable hours or unsafely close to your building.

Fireworks will probably remain legal around the Independence Day holiday because they make money, despite the fact that each year there is an estimated 10,000 firework-related injuries nationwide. I don't mind the fireworks if done safely by people with common sense and who know what they are doing, but with that said, I don't care for fireworks and can live just fine if they were banned.

Also my cat has always gone super crazy and hid under beds during July 4

I agree they should have professional shoes that end at 10pm which is plenty late and it’s dark enough to see the fireworks

Well if there's anything good about inflation, I hope it makes the fireworks unaffordable for the average person. Anything within 1/4 mile of residential buildings and after 10 pm is risky and inconsiderate. It literally gets dark at 8 pm, plenty of time to have your fun. Personally I don't even care before midnight, but there are other people who have to get up at 6-7 am for work and shouldn't have to suffer sleep deprivation the next day. I can pick my hours so dont have that problem, but I still tend to get tired at 11-12. Setting them off at 1-2 am is just lunacy and then sometimes again at 5-6 am!.I just don't get the thrill people get out of watching the same thing over and over and over again, or how the people literally standing right next to them can stand the noise themselves. It's like those people with the leaf blowers, just don't get it.

Ban, ban, ban. Everyone wants everything they don't like banned. Buy a pair of really good sound blocking over the head ear protectors (readily available on Amazon) and insert some foam into your ears and you'll be fine. This works great at the shooting range.

Your last sentence tells me everything I need to know about you. I can't sleep with uncomfortable crap stuff in or around my ears and head. I prefer the slightly more tolerable noise due to the better insulated walls of a hotel room. Last time I did this there were also fireworks nearby but it was nothing in comparison. The fact is fireworks are dumb, over-rated, obnoxious, and cause more harm than good. Speaking of guns, that's another problem, they mask the sound of gunfire, making it harder to track down criminal activities going on. Out of all the ridiculous forms of entertainment people use regardless of how it effects other people, fireworks are one of the worst. The noise is just intolerable even when I'm wide awake.

Unfortunately we don’t care about your opinion you can’t just cancel something because YOU don’t like it

I’m helping with a massive firework show no matter what some random guy on chess.com says, and I don’t think the government will listen either
