Yes eating might be important but patriotism isn't essential for human survival. Patriotism does nothing but hurt our society. It puts a wedge in between "nations" and stops humanity from surpassing the hatred that brews in it.
You saying we can't stop nationalism shows you are not ready to acknowledge that it is a serious problem that will continue to haunt us all. I don't know if you have realized, but the world is drifting towards the the wrong direction. AFD, Trump, Benjamin Netanyaho, FPÖ, Viktor Orban, Lega Nord....
