His family were the only ones in the town who believed in God. He chose to save those who believed in him. He also gave those in the town second and third chances. Lot and Abraham told the town and mob about God. The mob even tried to do inappropriate stuff with the angels who were sent to help Lot out. Lot begged God to save the town in 10 people could be saved. Unfortunately, Sodom and Gomorrah were too corrupted, so it had to be destroyed.

Do you think that children in that time had free will, no, probably not, also, the only reason why Lot and His family were saved because they had special treatment, and God is still a murderer, I know it, we have different opinions.
