Checkers/Draughts Anyone ?

Anyone play draughts ?

I recently rediscovered this game after thirty odd years. More draws. Computers have analysed to a draw BUT I like the game because:

1/ The fewer rules mean that if games are played anywhere else in the universe, then surely it would be a variant of draughts.

2/It does have it's own elegance. There are some very nice combinations and themes.

It would be good to play online in the same way we play chess. Would this be possible Mr Chess.com ? Perhaps as an extra to tempt us into paid memberships ?

Checkers/draughts is a dying game in terms of participation.It's a shame, it's a deep game worth preserving.

any server that's any good? like ICC, FICS or here (chess.com)

I can play a bit (know some basic club tactics) but there are no good sites so can't be bothered, anybody know any good site? either real time or correspondence-not bothered

I'm lucky I play once a month OTB against a good county level draughts player. County draughts apparently is not so well supported these days. It's a shame because draughts has a real elegance about it.
