While chess, in all it's glory, has not been called a religious game. There are some religious aspects to the game. The king for example having the Christian Cross atop of it. Or the Bishops in the game. Religion is not something often talked about in public but I feel that chess and religion have something in common. They are both very powerful and spiritual in some ways. Chess is religious to me as well as my battlefield. It is a game of life!!! And religion is also vastly important in life!!!
We are human. We make mistakes. And religion is one place we can go to in order to attempt to earn forgiveness and find inner peace. Chess is also another place where we can go to find inner peace.
