chess.com censorship: is it going too far?

If you watch Naroditsky's instructional "speedruns", you will see how often he runs into cheating at every rating level from 1200 to 2400. Most of them will be caught in fairly short order, but they are still in the pool swimming around at all times.
i'm offended with this inclusion!
seriously, though-a 1200 cheating? what do they get out of it if they are successful? a 1300 rating?
no matter the rating, i think a cheater receives a slight ego boost by getting away with it. this has to be followed with weeks of depression that you're really not that good.

Here's why Erik's not in the forums anymore...he's too busy crying in his beer...
Probably crying in his apple juice. Mormons can't drink beer.

Mormons just don't tell what they drink. Crazy juice anyone.

Here's why Erik's not in the forums anymore...he's too busy crying in his beer... I couldn't find your "frustrated" thread Al.....otherwise I would of put this in there. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/bitcoin-wipes-out-2021-gains-as-china-crackdown-continues-142206939.html
moved to site feedback so less people see it. you know, the way things are now-out of sight, out of mind. complaints, criticism? ignore it and it will go away.

The censorship is off the limit.
They control everything, every single word. Banned 6 times just for chat with another player about this dirty world. Unbelievable how the censorship working. We not free anymore

Just came across this older forum.
Not sure if people were actually reading what HarbingerofDoom wrote. He gave a little background, and then asked this question:
"Does anyone else feel that over censorship is making the threads duller/less entertaining? Is it better without any interesting characters?"
He wasn't crying or complaining or insisting chesscom doesn't have the right to censor! He merely asking if the heavy handed zealousness with which they censor has changed the level of interesting topics and conversations.
Answer: Yes

↑ what she said!
here is an example that just happened. someone mentioned a book about baseball and i questioned whether the n*gro league was in the book.
the post was zapped for the word in bold and i received the red banner for not following community guidelines.
so much for any adult conversation.

Right, that's completely ridiculous! That's what the league was called, that's its freakin' name!
Goo goo gah gah may be all that's allowable at this point. Wonder if that's next?
You can say anything you want except swear
Or Nazis,or talk about racism
Ther than that tho they can't ban you for telling unless it is sexual harassment it sucks but the state of cc censorship is pretty horrible

Lmao 🤣 in a perfect world there'd be no need his statement.
So what youre saying is that if chess.com put up signs that read:
This is a cheat free zone.
This is a spam free zone.
This is an insult free zone.
None of this would work???
Not without enforcement, no.
But then you already knew this
.
It would be interesting to know how That Other Chess Site is doing IP banning.
