Chess.com needs to boycott ‘The Lion King’

After viewing the pro lion propaganda piece ’The Lion King’ It is with a heavy heart I ask my comrades to boycott.

What are the issues you might ask? Well once again we hyenas are portrayed as the villains while lions are portrayed as the saviors. Another piece of revisionist history! Let me tell you the true story...

Once we hyenas lived in a utopian society. We had no need for leaders as we believed in the brotherhood of all creatures. Our generosity was known far and wide.

However, one day a small pride of starving lions, led by the tyrant Mufasa, appeared imploring us for help. What could we do other than to feed and care for these pitiful creatures?

As the lions regained their strength, and their numbers continued to increase (we kindly offered to eat the excess children, but were refused) their true nature appeared. 

First, they insisted  on taking their meals together separately. The communal table shared by hyenas, jackals, buzzards and vultures apparently wasn’t up to their bourgeoisie tastes. Secondly they insisted on referring to Mufasa as ‘King’ and any dealings with them had to be presented to him first. This was particularly confusing to us, and we could not understand why one lion would elevate the status of another above himself.

Finally, the ‘Summer of the Lion’ occurred when they ruthlessly hunted us and drove us from our homes. A single hyena is a match for any three lions, however with their incessant breeding (oh my the noise)the population of lions had exploded dwarfing our own. We didn’t stand a chance.

Now we are forced to live on the fringes of society, forgotten by most. But at least you know the true story...

A moving tale of the oppression suffered by hyenas. This needs to be known.
