Chess.com, as i am aware, is shutdown topics that openly state suggestions and opinions because they need to frickin look good.  But guess what they deserve to frickin die in a hole.  I made an opinionative statement claiming Chess.com sucks and [another site] is better, but because of that very statement plus some suggestions, chess.com banned or blocked, or however you want to put it, that forum.

[Removed name of other site - it is against Chess.com policy to explicitly discuss or make comparisons - positive OR negative - with our competitors, which is why your other thread was locked. Since people seem to be using the name of that other site freely below, I am locking this thread as well - David, moderator]

If "Chess.com sucks and [another site] is better," then why are you here?

What other activities do you continue participating in once you've decided they suck?

Do you also eat food that you don't like and then get up to get another serving of it while grumbling about how bad it tastes?

Things i dont like. and dont do:

Setting myself on fire.

Suicide.

Unprotected sex.

Sneaking into the zoo at night, and taunting the lions.

Working on live electrical outlets while standing in a puddle of water.

Removing the brakes from my car.

One of the best things chess.com has going for it is the Forum...

One thing chess,.com has going against it is that they choose to "censor" the Forums... I think they like to call it "Moderate" -- my experience here they tend to suppress some topics more then moderate them.  Mind you, moderators are needed, some of you chess players are animals.  Censor and Moderate are different, when you have been censored you know it.  When you act like an animal, most of us know it.

LiChess is a excellent chess website -- runs very fast smooth -- well programmed.

Have not been here for a while, meaning on chess.com, they have made some nice improvements.  Still, the community is the best thing they have going here -- meaning the people that engage on the website.  After reading the few comments on this thread, maybe not all the people :-)

Obviously, the person that opened the tread was pissed, and might be for good reason, although chess.com has every right to suppress anything on THEIR website, nobody likes being censored.  From the tone of the first comment, they might have deserved being "moderated", but we will never know, will we... if it was in fact been "closed".

They could solve this "moderator" issue and just remove all the forums, but then chess.com would be just be like any other chess website.

there is this new chat command on chess.com, "/[name removed]" that if you start your message with it, your message will disappear in ~5 seconds

here is a page that tracks the popularity of chess sites, http://chess-links.org/

chess.com and [the other site] are far ahead from the rest
