I kind of like chess.com limiting what players have to work with. I personally like to work hard to earn things, that's just my mindset but I know that most people hate that. Idk if any of this really makes sense, I'm running on 3 hours of sleep.

what do you mean?

Don't worry no one will ban you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lol my friend got banned for saying Lichess is better...

False. Your friend would be muted. Now, there is a new policy change. You are allowed to compare the two sites.

False on both counts. Chess.com has a lower average rating and premoves are slower.

Lichess is an objectively good site to play chess on. Ignore the people that barrage it.

To find the lower adverage rating you have to compare the ratio to the starting score on both sites, thus lichess has a lower average rating.  Premoves may be slower, but in OTB you do not make a premove in 0 seconds you make it in more or less 0.1 seconds. It is maybe a fine site to play, but you cannot really improve (at least from my experience) the puzzles are broken, and at higher level it can take minutes to find a game. Also, more people are registered on chess.com than on lichess, so that must tell something to.

From my experience, I don't think you're right. Lichess has harder puzzles, and they've got better internet and stuff. Premoves are fine with me in any case. Also, when sending a challenge to a blitz game, it only took a few seconds, and I'm at the 'higher level' that you're talking about. A 10+0 took only about 3-5 minutes at most, and you can spend time doing a puzzle racer. And everything is free there so-

meowmeomeo

But chess.com is fine with people who don't do puzzles, and just play chess.

renesh2023

but guys you can go to books for puzzles

kemmrich

Personally I find both sites to be just fine.  I like the "studies" over at lichess and like the variety of bots here (although lichess does have a bunch of user created bots).   chess . com and lichess use different rating methods so they can't be compared.   It only matters in the pool of players that you are playing with.   So a 1500 at lichess might be a 1200 here.  It doesn't mean that liChess has inflated ratings, just a different methodology.  I think the ratings converge at above 2200 or so (which I will probably never see!).    Both sites are good to me.

meowmeomeo

No, getting to 2500 is harder, because if your glicko is normal, then a win on chess.com is +8, but for lichess is only +5.

renesh2023

yes but you start out at 1500 and if you win you get like 200 rating

renesh2023

for me chess.com an lichess are good but why the frick cant u use other sites for puzzles and training

Alright, let me address your stupid logic.

I simply addressed the points he said. Yes, lichess ratings are inflated, but that was never addressed. He simply said that chess.com’s average rating is higher, and that is evidently false.

I never asked you to explain why premoves took longer. I simply addressed his false statement with fact.

Puzzles are not broken, puzzle ratings are.

By puzzles I mean I got to 3000 easily. Players can just do Boden's Mate and Back Rank mate over and over. It took me 25 minutes to find an Atomic challenge when I was rated 2200.

People who truly want to improve do not focus on puzzle ratings.

I disagree, lichess community and chess.com community are relatively the same, but chess.com beats lichess because you can do much more things in clubs and communities.
