Regarding Casey Sengel he was a lot like Yogi Berra in as far as he also made some rather funny statements. Yogi once remarked: " I never said all those things that I said "  lol.

One of the comics that I enjoyed in the newspaper was " Peanuts " by Charles Schulz. This is a very funny quote of his that I found: " Just remember, once you're over the hill you begin to pick up speed. "

---   On second thought I'm not sure if that quote is all that funny after all ( hey what was that behind me, is the Grim Reaper gaining on me  lol ).

Due to some minor technical problems ( re a troll and/or sock-puppet ) I've got to restart this old old thread here under new management and yet as it turns out I'm still the same old me   lol.

---   Anyway, part one of this thread which was started years ago by my doppelganger was thrown out for some reason ( it went over 1000 posts, but quite calm otherwise ), and is long gone so perhaps we can try part two.

A very interesting quote from Thomas Mann: " Hold fast to time ! Use it ! Be conscious of each day, each hour ! The years slip away unnoticed all too easily and swiftly. " Yes all very true I'm afraid.

   ---   Quite a interesting statement !

---   Yup the previous thread on this subject is getting messed up again due to too much Horse Manure so I'm bringing this new version tread back again, those Clowns are back  lol.

---   Well in this case the old thread was gone, thrown out etc,  so we are back lol.

You are getting older because you know what KFC stands for and you remember when the Colonel was alive.

badenwurtca

You are getting older because you remember when Tiny Tim married Miss Vicki on the Tonight Show ( Yup with the late Johnny Carson ).

Abhinav

The mention of Late Johnny Carson reminds me of this interview. happy.png

I don't get it - Parr was just a little before my time.

That would make me an old oldtimer, sigh…

I was probably alive at that time, but I probably had an 8 PM bedtime. ;-)

You know you’re getting older when you hope to be in bed by 8 PM!

badenwurtca

Yup these days I like to get to bed by 9 PM and get up around 6 AM.

Oddly, Part 1 has come back ( what fun ).

So we get to double post now? (Reminds me of the Doublemint gum ads on TV.)

badenwurtca

Well I guess I should keep this thread in reserve for the next time some auto- bot starts to go crazy  lol.

One older guy still out there working away in his old age is singer Willie Nelson ( he owes more back-taxes ). He recently put out a funny new song that kind of fits in with this thread: " I Woke Up Still Not Dead Again Today ". Happened to me this morning too   lol.

---   Yup I woke up this morning, and I was not yet dead  lol.
