Did something happen with the universe today that I'm unaware of? Like did that collider thing blow up or something? I'm just going to assume it did because otherwise I have no idea why I would be told that kaynight is a some kind of genius and shown a movie by RJC this evening??? I'm going to go to bed now and hopefully it will all make sense in the morning

I just don't think changing skin colour matters for character portrayals. If we're going to have aesthetically pleasing actors to look at in U.S. movies then why not have aesthetically pleasing skin tones?
you are a very good film critic. have you ever seen a white person portray a minority correctly?
those i have mentioned was not along the lines of aesthetically pleasing. rather, actors and actresses that i thought could portray those i mentioned.

Hmm...First, thank you for the compliment, but I'm an awful film critic. One of my favourite things about those movie review threads is reading the contributor's reviews in comparison with mine--it gives me a good laugh at myself
Second, I don't really know how to respond to the question you posed--"have you ever seen a white person portray a minority correctly?" Each individual knows exactly what it's like to be a minority, because all of us are minorities everyday. Walking into a new work place, a party where you know only one other person, your family moving to a new neighborhood, etc., etc. On a larger scale, just watch foreign films; "white people" in China, "black people" in Germany, "brown people" in Sweden, etc., etc. Of course we all know what it's like to feel alienated no matter what colour our skin is, what our beliefs are, etc. If the focus of the role being played is supposed to make a big deal of having dark skin, or having a vagina, being the older woman, etc., then certainly the role should be played by people fitting those characteristics. But if that's not the focus, then any good actor should be able to play any role. Especially the roles of our fantasy script about the Chess.com community;)
