70 God (if I remember) is held to have created fish slightly before birds (and chickens can hardly be considered 'of the air' as it is put in the verse describing avian creation), so if one pair of fish REALLY jumped the gun on 'be fruitful and multiply', there's a possibility that the egg came first.
