Climate change

This forum is going to be used to talk about climate change, I’m no expert but I can still educate you guys about it and why it’s serious. I’ll include more details in the future but over the past few years, temperatures have been increasing, this has lead to hurricanes, wild fires and storms to get more severe.

How worried should we be?

PrecisionGuessWorks

Well, where one place gets hotter, another place gets colder

Is it worse than war or like corrupted ideologies?

CO2 levels have gone up, plants 300 million years ago produce coal, oil and natural gas I think they can also be called fossil fuel. We use co2 for travel, manufacturing, they are even found in foods. When we burn fossil fuel we release CO2 into the atmosphere.

Well on apr with those I think, hurricanes and storms have gotten worse because of climate change

chessterchief

what can we do about it?

ren97ren

Start using renewable energy, like instead of driving to someplace you can bike there, buy solar panels, you can educate others too

ren97ren

There are loads of other things

I hope people who know more about this subject can share what they know.

CO2 traps heat which means it affects climate change

Nimzowitsch

Switch to electric cars and renewable energy sources (solar and hydropower) en masse

what is renewable energy? much of it is not reliable or harmful in other ways. the only one I can think of that really works is geothermal. dams kill fish and change rivers. solar can be problematic because sunny days are not constant. windmills have similar problems to solar, but they can also freeze in cold weather. Nuclear is probably best, if we can think of something to do with the waste

FrownUpsideDown

Sure ill buy an electric car which only costs on average 56000$

ren97ren

Well all I know about renewable energy is that it never runs out and it has nothing to do with CO2 like solar panels, wind turbines
