Coffee with milk and sugar is more addictive than nicotine

In this thread I'm going to explain why I believe, with zero studies done about the topic, that the combo of COFFEE+MILK+SUGAR can be equally or more dangerous than other drugs like nicotine(smoking).

Disclaimer: no medical/nutritional advice , not even an advice of any kind nor a suggestion

- Caffeine is addictive because it blocks adenosine receptors in the brain, which prevents you from feeling tired and increases the release of dopamine, a neurotransmitter that makes you feel good

- Milk contains the protein casein, breaks down into opioid-like compounds called casomorphins, which can activate the brain's opioid receptors (like any other opioid drug, for example cocaine).

- Sugar is considered addictive because it triggers the brain's pleasure and reward system, releasing dopamine and opioids, which can lead to cravings and dependence.

So,

Aall the 3 combined in a proper dose are way more addictive than a cigarrete or a vape. If you drink this combo 3 times a day you won't be able to quit cold turkey without massive withdrawal symptoms. And if you also smoke, you are doomed because you overloaded the dopamine receptors, adenosine and nicotinic receptors, so your body unlearned to naturally prodece all the good stuff .

And if with all that combined, if you also play videogames or scroll on social media - you may be doomed

as for me i am trying to quit coffee, so all the suppositions come from my personal biases about coffee, it may not apply no others. I quit smoking quite easily (to my own surprise) but couldn't quit coffee, it was almost like my life was hanging on it. 5th attempt ongoing now

But why is it bad to be addicted to coffe with cigarettes you are giving yourself a higher risk of lung cancer but what's the problem with coffee

Get addicted to coffee in the day, and alcohol at night, that way they cancel each other out

By adding another layer to the dopaminergic cycle you become more substance dependant. This may exacerbate your addiction even more on the mid-long term

the problem with coffee , for me, is that over time the good effect fades unless I increase the amount. 2 cups a day, then its 3, then its 3 doubles, then 3 triples, and when I get to the stage of 3-4 quadruple expressos then I start to feel withdrawal between the hours and the good feeling shortens more and more

U know it’s interesting u say that bc the two coffee heads I know also both drink 8 a day. Which is half a gallon of coffee, which is ridiculous to a non coffee drinker. I drank one about three hours ago and I’m pretty amped up coffee is definitely a d r u g imo but it makes me more productive when I need a boost. But so does water. I don’t like things that amp me up so I only drink like one coffee a month

Allan Poe switched to only once a week and he explained how It works better for him. I think the right amount differs depending on the person, genes...many factord. And essentially it may be a standard 1 cup of coffee followed by a period of time of a proper recovery so the adrenals/medula aren't forced to adjust

Uh.. it’s 6 am and I’m not even tired from one coffee like 11 hours ago I’m gonna go ahead and chalk that up as a mistake
