What is infinity+i, infinity i+1, and infinity i+infinity?

i being the square root of -1 - the imaginary unit.

I studied this back in early 1984. Six months after successfully completing the course, I was reviewing my text notes and didn't understand half of it. Thirty-five years later I'm afraid I even understand less of it . . .

It represents all real numbers, Dave.

infinity+infinity i-(infinity+infinity i) "represents" all feasible real and imaginary numbers.

Correction I should say infinity-infinity represents no numbers. as infinity-infinity-n equals any value n, but it also equals n+3, as the difference between infinity and infinity is n but also n+3.

 

Infinity is ever running and never numbering.

infinity-infinity "represents" all real numbers, and at the same time none, as it is indeterminate where the point meets on the real number line at infinity-infinity
