Is anyone else freaking out?!
CORONAVIRUS IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coronavirus facts
- death rates less than flu
- only risk for elderly, young, or those with compromised immune systems + other conditions (pneumonia)
- flu or cold-like symptoms
pretty harmless, even though it is contagious. Yet:
- people are freaking out: witch hunts claiming any sickness to be coronavirus
- nearly every extra curricular activity is canceled
- (some) stores are being emptied like it is the apocalypse
- all sports leagues and performance activities are suspended/canceled
In short, my answer is no, I'm not freaking out, and I don't see why everyone else is.
Yes, the flu kills nearly 1000 times as many people every year... but the mass media freak-out is over the corona virus, for some reason.

Dude its still spreading ... at a much faster pace. And thats per YEAR ... coronavirus has only been spreading at this level for like a month
While estimates of coronavirus fatality rates vary, they remain far higher than those for the flu. COVID-19 has a fatality rate of 3.4%, WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said earlier this month. That’s more than previous estimates of between 1.4% and 2%, although some observers say his analysis was a blunt interpretation of incomplete data, and were probably skewed by a higher death rate in China.

Secondly it is not just about the fatality rate now compared to the flu but the simple fact that many many healthcare systems are being overwhelmed by large number of cases in a short time. Flu stats are based on what can be treated in hospital however there are not enough critical care beds, breathing apparatus etc in many places as this pandemic pushes the numbers past capacity. So what could be treatable below capacity becomes fatal.
This is not about freaking out or not, just normal epidemiology and public health issues and making adjustments to reduce the impact.
I would LOVE to tell you The Best Protection from such an ailment but that is banned to SPEAK OF on this site.
.....and T H A T is very sad! =/
Corona deaths to date 6500 worldwide.
Flu deaths worldwide are typically around 500,000 per year.
Yet our health care facilities are overwhelmed with Corona cases?
Why?

MASS HYSTERIA!!!!!!!!!!!!
