I am getting my second shot at the end of the mouth. When the pub's and football can get back to normal. We will be allowed back into chess clubs. And this nightmare will be over

We'll be hitting 120 million cases worldwide this weekend, and 30 million in the US by tomorrow, putting the US at a full quarter of the world's cases, or 6+ times the amount that would be "average" for 4% of the world's population.

I got my first vaccine shot yesterday (Pfizer). I was a little sore at the injection site but my side effects were very mild and I am happy to have protected myself and others. I look forward to receive my 2nd shot April 1.

    Here's to all the members who have gotten a vaccine, and all who are planning to get one. A big atta boy and good for you.  Tell everyone on the site and in your life, you NEED to get a vaccine. I don´t dare post more about corona-chaos in Europa.

However, I cannot recommend anyone a certain vaccine right now. Several European countries paused the use of Astra Zeneca-Vaccine. This side-effect-issue may occur partly due to already existing mistrust against this vaccine, but this is not to be ignored.

Since I have to wait to be vaccinated, I will wait for further report of investigation, before getting upset. And I will wait and wait and wait… for anything…

  There shouldn't be any chaos in Europe. Astra Zeneca has been associated with blood clots but I don't think the science is there yet to definitely say that it causes blood clots in all cases. It may be a rare side effect that only affects a few people.  .....granted, I wouldn't want to be one of those people..

Still, several European nations have suspended its use for now. Perpetual fear. 

I mean, chaos aside from this doubt about the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine. 😫

You are referring to the study that the company had provided, and based on which EU authorized the vaccine. Since an unknown risk has occurred after the start of vaccination to human bodies, the authority must investigate each critical event.

As the investigation is still ongoing, no one knows, whether there is a link between thromboembolic and vaccine. I would not recommend this vaccine to anyone until EMA has completed the review.

When a newsreader reported on the government´s decision to suspend the AstraZeneca vaccine, and then confirmed the safety of this vaccine in the next broadcast, only the public mistrust was confirmed. (This is also one of many manifestations of chaos.)

I see the different perspectives between you and me.

Of course, the number indicates extreme safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine. If someone bother to read the instruction note of a medical product, he/she would know the risk of side effects of a common drug can be 100 -1000 times higher than this vaccine. We take those medicine from our own decision. From this point of view, those worrying European look ridiculous.

Medical experts are working on the investigation. They are looking for specific character of this vaccine, not the number.

We want people to be vaccinated as many as possible and as soon as possible. Society and political leader tend to persuade people to seize every opportunity to get jabs. As I already said, I don´t want to push people now.
- Under this condition of distrust, I suspect that someone could get thromboembolic even from AstraZeneca-placebo.

  Fair enough.....we're probably both on edge living with this lockdown crap for over a yr now. Under ideal conditions people could choose which vaccine they want.  In other news, in THIS country at least, Maderna started trial testing of children...6 months to 18 yrs old. It will be months before any of that trail data is in.

That is a nice news.

We believed that young people were safe and fixed our sight on older people for too long time. - all over the world. Although there were severe cases of children, but their number was too small that most people ignored it.  Now, we are facing to mutated covid and find that that being young doesn´t guarantee immunity to covid-virus.

The problems are distribution of the vaccines and vaccine hesitancy. 

   I thought THIS was interesting in that you don't hear this explanation.
