Very true . The Bill of Rights isn't going to solve any of the problems brought about by this pandemic. But Pew research has found good understanding in the American population: They have found 77% of Americans think vaccine will be good for the economy. https://www.pewresearch.org/science/2021/03/05/growing-share-of-americans-say-they-plan-to-get-a-covid-19-vaccine-or-already-have/
Compared to Brazil, where the thinking is more like " the measures against Covid-19 hurts the economy "
Good point, all that is needed is one vaccination resistant one...then we are all back to square one
Rare ???? yeah, till it happens
Yes, that's why "vaccine hesitancy", aka being a dillweed
, is so dangerous. It keeps the virus running around the world endlessly with the odds of eventual mutations increasing with each extra day the virus is unchecked.
I was actually thinking this week about how the world should just hold a 2 week complete self-isolation period which would take huge bite out the pandemic. Then rinse and repeat ever few years. You could actually make a big dent in lots of transmissible viruses this way. The more that population density increases, the more that this kind of measure will eventually become a necessity.
People seem to think the virus just sits around on a shelf waiting to pounce...no, it needs to transmit host to host to survive. All that has to happen for the virus to be gone is for people to *stop spreading it around*. But it would have to be everyone at once. No science deniers waving their Bill of Rights around at the virus...
