The problem here is twofold:
Worldwide travel is much more prevalent now than, say, Spanish Flu times. Vaccines could be administered, and they would do their jobs for months on end, and when their efficacy eventually faded, it didn't matter, because the virus was already gone. Now, the virus spreads farther and faster, in a neverending rotation of plane flights
...which makes it even more important that *everybody gets vaccinated* in *roughly the same timeframes*, so the virus will die off instead of mutating and being re-introduced over and over by Aunt Gertrude who flew in from 3,000 miles away.
But people won't vaccinate in spite of pretty much everyone having already had vaccines since childhood. I really don't think people get how viruses work. Individual virus cells only live a few weeks. If you stop the spread cold for that length of time, then it's done. If people keep futzing around, it will never be over.
THIS should give the un-vaccinated some incentive..lol If you don't want the vaccine---Fine. If you get sick....pay the entire hospitalization bill.. 2 weeks on a ventilator in the I.C.U......SURE, you've got the money for that...https://www.yahoo.com/finance/m/ea2f702e-6717-3aaf-9017-46b5e4031afa/don%E2%80%99t-want-the-covid-19.html If your rights are being violated then put your money where your mouth is..... don't put MY money where your rights end.
Right on!
An annual Covid-Influenza booster is a good idea, especially for those of us with chronic illnesses.
If you get fired for not getting the vaccine,.....don't expect to collect unemployment....

Correct me if I'm wrong. But i thought if you were fired, you couldn't collect unemployment?
Yes and no. Unemployment is administered at the state level, despite being a federal program, so each state may differ in its qualifications (insofar as they do not contradict federal guidance). Then, I know some states will allow unemployment if terminated for good cause (as in, routine layoffs or downsizing) but not for bad (such as “smoking” in the boys room).

Thank You.
Yep, layoffs and downsizings are paid unemployment in every state that I know of. Which is why so many bloated companies used layoffs instead of going through the lengthy processes of terminating individual poor employees. Just wait 4-5 years, have a layoff, and eliminate all your poor performers at once guilt free and lawyer safe...it's pretty common.
I was asked to go through and cull X% of the worst employees a number of times, but when I would try to take action on individual poor performers it would rarely go anywhere.
I had one guy in Dallas who actually got away with claiming he was clinically depressed due to being on a performance plan, and lasted an extra year doing pretty much nothing all day while being "treated". He was on the performance plan originally for doing nothing
...so claiming he was then not able to work anymore due to the stress of being on performance plan for not doing his work was pure BS.
HR at most large companies will do pretty much anything to avoid legal liability.
My local news said that Canada has opened its border to fully vaccinated Americans after being closed for 18 months. The U.S.A will open its side of the border Aug 21st if all goes right.
Something im wondering about.
If covid is so deadly, and I am required to wear a mask at the store, gym and church. Why aren't players in the NFL, MLB, NHL, and Olympics required to wear masks?
I ask this because i honestly dont know the difference in mask policies.
It is proven that masks restrict the air flow causing athletes to pass out on occasion.
But if this virus is as deadly we are lead to believe. Then why are some allowed to not wear masks while others are told they have to to control the spread?
It fogs up my glasses, I have scared up lungs so breathing is very hard, I have had 2 Pfizer shots, and the chances of me spreading the virus are so close to zero it just as well be zero. My degrees cover biology and one of my courses was Virology I recognize BS because I have as one of my degrees a BS.
As I have said before so much of this doesn't make sense. I am not saying the virus is not real, because obviously it is. But the rules are inconsistent, and they seem to be for one group of people, but not for another. I have to wear a mask to but eggs, but professional athletes can do what they do without a mask? Apparently my act of buying eggs carries much greater risk than 22 guys on a football field in a pile.
I'm not one of those you describe. My frustration is with the climate in the country, the distrust of "experts" the constantly changing rules, and , of course, the disease itself.
I was not implying i was referring to you. My apologies for any misunderstanding. The distrust i can most definitely understand.
