Now go post this in all those other dingaling covid-denial and anti-vax threads you come across.

There's a guy in Elroch's Evolution thread that's interested in the Chinese lab leak of Covid....... so I'm posting THIS here. https://www.yahoo.com/news/lab-leak-fight-casts-chill-124433759.html

So now nonsense is going to push actual science to the fringes. We're doomed as a species to die from terminal stupidity!

Then go ahead and block me, cause pushing that stuff on kids is anti-science, deranged, child abuse. Can't claim you are pro-science when you dismiss decades of modern genetics.

i chose to quote one of your shorter posts for the sake of brevity.

you seem to be the typical armchair quarterback. while you look back on those, like you, that caught covid and ended up just fine, there were millions that died from it. and, the #1 responsibility of government is to keep people safe.

so, you can rant all you want about how peoples' rights were 'infringed', but, that is what government does during a pandemic.

furthermore, you writing that states like texas and florida would have more covid based on population discounts the per capita average. you also ignore that florida (destupid) decided to not report covid to the cdc. destupid also put a surgeon general in place who stated that people should not get the vaccines.

your posts here remind me of you writing that there should be no speed limits.

you need to grow up.

allow me to add more.

long covid is a real thing. how it manifests is unknown. those that easily discount the effects of the virus draw my ire, and that you asked to be blocked from this topic while wanting to puke out your bile says something about you.

I got a shot, later I got a shot again. When a few months passed I got pretty ill and was tested, no covid just pneumonia. Over the next month I improved but then relapsed severely. I was tested again this time covid test was positive and pneumonia was confirmed. It took a very long time to recover as much as I have. Did the shots help? I really don't know but I have about all the things that they say help covid kill so maybe. Will I get another shot? Only if I have no other option!

Endgame said in post 4244....." What the governments did in response to the pandemic was catastrophic and to deny that is just plain, unempathetic, delusional, narcissism"....... surprise Not unlike your response to U-Tube. Or your inability to control your emotions when revving up your engine because the road is shut down. meh

Endgame can't post here, blocks are universal, and I had to block him for harassing PMs that were not directly related to this thread.

Eli Lilly is capping the price on insulan at $35, a month. Much better than $2000.

Isn't this based on a bill passed in the previous Congress (back when they did things and weren't run by Republicans) and is touted as an accomplishment of Joe Biden?

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/03/09/biden-budget-would-cap-monthly-insulin-prices-at-35-for-people-with-private-insurance-.html

And people run around saying that Biden hasn't done anything. That's an impressive disinformation campaign!

I stumbled on this article this morning. It's about a study that investigated the effects of fungi in our gut microbiomes on covid, specifically long covid. They found some correlation between certain fungi and long covid. They admit the study had a small sample size and was done early in the pandemic, before we had learned much about it. They believe the study shows that more investigation is deserved in this area.
A short quote:
"Now, a new study has found severe COVID may be related to fungal bugs in our gut microbiome. This could be through a variety of changes to the immune system in response to specific fungal species."

It's not all that surprising, given that our immune system keeps lots of weird pathogens in check and anything that weakens that system is going to release all sorts of ailments.

With internet disinformation and AI now generating images and soundtracks of things that never happened, we are heading into a new dark age of idiocy.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/covid-variant-hv-1-now-023335830.html

The new HV-1 variant that emerged in July has already become the dominant variant in the US just in time for the holidays (going from 0.5% of cases to 25.2% of cases in a few months...so, expect a big uptick in cases if people ignore it...

The latest booster is aimed at these Omicron descendants, so if you have not had a booster since Omicron, this would be a good time to get one, before Thanksgiving and Christmas.

DrSpudnik

I got the booster last Thursday, which accounts for my absence for a couple days. Only the lingering injection site pain is there.

Meanwhile we're all feeling the pain on this site for various reasons.

How many shots so far?

I don't hear anything about the hv-1 here and normally we play it super safe.

I didn't either, actually, which seems to be a shortcoming of the new outlets and their short attention span. Anytime a new strain takes off though and jumps to a new #1 we should be hearing about it.
