If you wish to control the narrative on a topic you start, I gather you have that lattitude.  If you actually do want open dialogue, you cannot shut down opinions you disagree with.  History is riddled with tyranny and one of the first things to be shut down is free speech.  If you wish to have a functioning free society, you must allow people to express their opinions to gain understanding.  We should never be afraid of the truth.  In my quest to find truth, I have found I was wrong on some things and right on others and many times it was because I allowed myself and sometimes forced myself, to actually listen to something or someone that ran counter to preconceived notions or bias. I often didn't like what the truth was, but I have found it is better to know the truth, than live a lie.  I believe everyone can contribute and that you can learn something from everybody, whether it is considered positive or negative.

My challenge to you is to take the heavy hand off this thread and let it resolve itself on its own volition.  As to the picture I posted of Mr. Fauci, what do you see here?  A picture can say it all and it does.  Actions often speak louder than words and there is no clearer example of hypocracy than this.

I am also a person who had covid and what I experienced was flu like symptoms with extreme fatigue as being the worst of it. I have actually had flu strains worse than covid.  To conclude, I am a truth seeker and there are others like me who are truth seekers.  I despise nearly all politicians both right and left and the money that funds their agendas.   Yes, I do believe there is an agenda and that many have become drunk with power.  These pet camelons take on whatever color their owners pick.

I see an opportunistic photo of somebody with their mask down, but I am also smart enough to realize that if you follow someone around long enough, a photo like that is inevitable.  More telling is the hundreds of such photos being passed around...rather than actually talking about Covid, certain people just want to say "see, the other side is full of it".

I couldn't care less that you had mild Covid symptoms.  Even 85 year olds have an 85% survival rate, lest you forget.  But there are...lets doublecheck...450,000 dead in the US.  And yes, 99.5% of that number are dead *from Covid-19*.  The numbers are correct.  Your personal experience doesn't override that.

Here's how free speech relates to this topic...I will use an image, your preferred medium:

free_speech.png

My challenge to you is to make worthwhile posts.  I will give you the "lattitude" to prove that you are not a "camelon" yourself...because right now I think you are the one closer to "hypocracy" than Fauci wink.png.

Notes to somebodies in particular:

This Thread continues to be somewhat informative, but you continue to show bias towards political Posts.

You castigate The WA contributor, whilst ignoring your Canadian friend, who is the most politically active poster on this Thread and doesn't bother to hide it.

I have spoken to her on more than one occasion, actually, both publicly and privately.  She was covered in this case under the more "general" admonishment  to not reply to political posts with politics.  There were several offenders on this score in recent days, so I bundled that feedback up, but I am well aware and keeping my eye on it.  The difference, as implied by my feedback, is that some posters are initiating the BS (and not just politics, but "information" that isn't backed up, etc.) to promote an agenda, and some are responding to those agendas.

"My Canadian friend" in the past had done some of the initiating, but has curtailed that since.  Unlike people that respond to my bringing up the rules from the OP by calling for their free speech rights wink.png, I give more leeway to people who actually seem to be earnest in trying to compromise and be "good citizens" of the conversation.

I am reassured, thanks for the reply.

I have been following this Site for some idea of the vaccine roll-out...

Thanks for accepting it without rancor wink.png.  You are in a small but mature minority.

Now were talking Mr.Tickler and I thank you for engaging. You are quite the arteest.  Mr. Fauci does not have a very good track record, but then again seldom do those who say, "Do as I say, not as I do." and he's been caught in many lies.  Should you decide to take your axe off the grinder, you might learn something about your hero.

Very opportunistic photo, so here it a new and different one.  As you can see, his female companion decided, she didn't need hers either.  Sorry I couldn't pass up this opportunity.

Nice site.  The long term case fatality rate data is striking in its boring straight lines, because it basically proves how important existing medical infrastructure has been in Covid fatality rates country by country.  Very few countries have made any significant dent in their fatality rates since the very beginning.

Dr. Fauci is fine, but he's no hero, heroic people would have told the administration they were full of crap even if it cost them their position.  That's their job.  Birx, and to a lesser degree Fauci, could have done more to speak up out about the lying going on.

In the OP I talk about having to be able to back up claims.

Don't post stuff from pseudo-science websites.  If you are in doubt use the site I linked (mediabiasfactcheck).  If the pseudo-science level is anything over "Moderate" or if the overall site rating is anything less than "Mostly Factual", then I won't accept it as backing up a claim.  You get a couple of those bad "claims" and then if you can't post reliable backup, you're done posting here.  In this case, since you decided to double down on that one link, you're out of grace attempts wink.png.

Tonya, I know we have had disagreements on some other things and my apologies for being harsh.

Wolfbird

I advise not clicking on Pat Zurr's links. My virus software warned me against it.

Pat_Zurr

With regard to Fauci, I believe him to be a wolf in sheeps clothing and I will leave it there.  Obviously, we agree to disagree.  Both sides have planted the flag and no one is going to change anyone else's mind.

Pat_Zurr

Lol, there are no viruses here.  What virus software are you running?

Wolfbird

I'm not accusing Pat Zurr of providing any virus's. The links to the websites he listed are suspected of having virus's.

Pat_Zurr

Thank you Tonya

Former_mod_david

Folks - stop responding to @Pat_Zurr's repetition of links to articles he's already posted previously: I have deleted three of his posts and some of the responses.

@Pat_Zurr, please leave it with the "agree to disagree" because clearly you do not wish to contribute to this discussion in a meaningful way.

Fauci lied about making money off the vaccine.

I have more.

More what?  You are posting stuff from a conspiracy website.  It's all been debunked.  Hell, the site can't even spell "Moderna vaccine" correctly in their titling/URL wink.png.

That's as far as this Fauci sideline goes.  Your next Fauci post, especially one citing Principia Scientific, is your last post.
